EKM-020 technical description smart lock 2

Introduction

Mobile Easykey smart lock 2 replaces every mechanical switch lock on drawbar- and small electrical appliances.

The simple installation, without drilling, etc., allows quick and easy installation.

The system can be installed or retrofitted to all common devices - regardless of the manufacturer.

smart lock 2 is a simple and cost effective access control.

The device is released via transponder. Unauthorized use is thus ruled out.

smart lock 2 can be used as a standalone solution or integrated into a Mobile Easykey infrastructure.

The programming and data transfer takes place via Bluetooth.

Manufacturer approval

With the possibility of connecting presence detection (e.g. seat contact, dead man‘s switch),

smart lock 2 is also approved for driver‘s seat devices and devices with internal combustion engines.

No approval exist for:

- Vehicles on public roads

- EX protection areas

- Aviation sector

In addition, the known conditions of Domnick+Müller GmbH + Co. KG, Friedrichsdorf apply.

Installation instruction

Mechanischer und elektrischer Einbau:

1. Remove the mechanical switch lock and install the
smart lock in the existing opening.

2. 2. Fix the retaining nut with 2Nm
Establish power supply:

Pin 1 cable colour PINK: 12 – 24 Volt DC

Pin 2 cable colour BROWN: GND, Minus, 0 Volt

Pin 3 cable colour YELLOW: Optional external
presence detection, set polarity in the software

Pin 4 cable colour GREY: Relay closed contact
port 1, potential separated

Pin 5 cable colour WHITE: Relay closed contact
port 2, potential separated

3. Before the electrical connection, the current to be
switched must be measured. Attention: Larger, even
short-term currents can destroy the smart lock 2.
(See also no. 4)
4. 4. Max. Loads on contacts:
12 V: 2 A / 24 W
24 V: 2 A / 48 W
48 V: 1,25 A / 60 W
If the current is greater an additional power relay
must be used.

5. When supplying power to the module, make sure
that a 1 A fuse idle is installed to the positive
connection cable.

6. Module programming and commissioning: see
Software MEKM.

Important:

If the presence detection is used together with radio data transmission, there must be a distance of at least 70 cm between the radio module and the presence detection in order to rule out interference

Antenna

RFID Antenna

The antenna captures the transponder data in the reading range up to approx. 20 mm and forwards it to the evaluation electronics.

Only when the authorisation has been recognized, the release switch then switches the connected load.

Bluetooth Antenna

„Bluetooth classic“
Radio range approx. 10 to 50 meters

Troubleshooting

Measure voltage input
Measure the brown and pink cable. There must be at least 12 V DC.

Check presence detection
Measure at the yellow cable. It must be the set potential. Or internally move the smart lock,
the blue LED must light up.

Check working relay
Remove cable from Pin 4 and Pin 5. Perform continuity measurement:
Logged out: No continuity (contact open, high resistance).
Logged in: Passage (contact closed, approx. 0 Ohm).
